Launch of "Fishing in the City" by admin

Category: Hunting
April 12th, 2008 news release by the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC: VANCOUVER -- Lower Mainland residents will be able to enjoy three unique urban fishing opportunities this spring and summer thanks to the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC's new Fishing in the City program. "We know that sometimes it's difficult to get out of the city to go fishing, so this year we're bringing enhanced fishing opportunities into the city," said FFSBC Vice-President Brian Chan. As part of the Fishing in the City program, the FFSBC will be conducting enhanced trout stocking activities at Rice Lake in North Vancouver and Lafarge and Como lakes in Coquitlam. These repeated stocking activities will ensure that the three lakes offer excellent fishing opportunities for shore-based anglers throughout the spring and early summer, and again in the fall. Working in partnership with local governments, the FFSBC will also erect special on-site signage providing additional information to anglers. "While the society stocks dozens of lakes across the Lower Mainland, we hope that these three lakes will offer new fishing opportunities for young and novice anglers or those who want to get back into the sport" said program coordinator Stacy Webb. "Children under the age of 16 can fish for free, and we've even reserved fishing at Como Lake for children and seniors." Adults can purchase a freshwater licence at their local tackle shop or buy one on-line. For fishing tips and tricks and lake stocking information in the Lower Mainland please contact the Fraser Valley Trout Hatchery Visitor's Centre at 604-504-4716 or visit us online. --------------------------------------- The launch featured a Learn to Fish session with 40 scouts and girl guides, followed by the release of 300 rainbow trout. The day finished off with a short fishing session on the floating dock. April 24, 2008. Fishing upper Lake Taneycomo after still another wet day in the Ozark region. All 10 flood gates open at Table Rock Dam and fishing's pretty good. We try several techniques and catch a few nice rainbows, hook a couple big walleye and a spotted bass. We are trying to prove to the world that's "Branson is not flooded" and fishing is still possible in these high water conditions.

Jurassic Park CutBow Trout monster Killer Action aerobatic by admin

Jurrassic Park trout trip to Lake Amador with Craig Wood..............Aerobatic wild trout action for 2.5 days. Using Berkley Green Power bait and Berkley nugget with Shelton Self releasing hooks and TadPole snagless weight. Also ran one floater rig equipped with Berkley power boat and Shelton hooks. We also did a little trolling with grubs for a hour. It was a relaxing trip and Craig pulled the 14 foot Westcoaster up with his pickup and I brought the motor home. Weather was very good making for a fantastic trip with all day action. It was difficult to leave for home but the Thanksgiving turkey was calling. Since you aren't breaking off hooks in fish and with the TadPole snagless weights, not breaking off in rocks, you get in more fishing time because you are not down re-rigging so that gives you more time with your bait in the water and you improve your catch. This is especially important when you have kids, as you will not spend all of your time re-rigging them. It is especially a good feeling seeing them swim away. Berkley Power Bait and these hooks and TadPole make one of the most effective trout bait rig there is. Catch and keep, no problem, you get the hook out instantly, and catch and release couldn't be easier. Regarding self-releasing hooks. They are design to release fish without touching them. Basically how they work is the eye of the hook is at the bend of the hook and the leader line goes through a flexible plastic sleeve that goes over leader line and when the sleeve is slid down over the shank of the hook it is set and fish just like a regular fishhook. The sleeve has a second line tied to the top of this and parallels the main leader line and is attach by a sliding 3 turn uniknot tied with thread. When you slid the red knot up by pinching it or using a pocket comb it slides the sleeve up and the hook rotates and self releases. Floating Trout Rig Shelton Hook big trout action by admin

Category: Hunting
DIY (Do it yourself) floating trout rig as demonstrated by Craig Wood. Using this rig with Berkley Power Bait when trout is suspended and if fishing 2 rods use a standard Shelton Quick Out Hook with a TadPole™ snagless weight on one rig while using Craig's floating rig equipped with a pen float, Shelton Quick Out Hook with Berkley Power Bait on the other rod. This way you catch both bottom cruisers as well as suspended fish near the surface. Starting at the top is a ting 3 hole plastic slider then a small bead, then the line goes through the bottom of the pen float leading to a snap swivel. To this a Shelton Quick Out Hook rig is attached with 2 ting ball weights clipped near the top loop of the rig. Near the Shelton Quick Out Hook sleeve attach another ball weight by hand so you don't pinch the line. This tiny ball weight needs to slide when you pull the sleeve to release the fish. Line Breaker Monster Trout Attack Bait go arobatic by admin

Category: Hunting
Line Breaker Monster Trout Attack Bait go arobatic. Great 2 day trip with a overnight camping at Lake Amador near Jackson California. We were fishing for large Donaldson trout using new Berkley Gulp bait in a chartreuse glitter with Shelton Self Releasing hooks and Shelton's Tadpole™ snagless weights. We were fishing from a 15 foot aluminum boat. The Gulp looks similar to Powerbait. It is a little softer than Powerbait and you can put on more and still have the hook easily come out of the bait and stick the fish. We pulled the boat up on shore but fished out the back of the boat.
