I talked to some folks at a local shelter about a mixed breed dog that needs a family. It's been rescued but best guess is breed might be a retriever/vizsla mix and its a good natured 2 yr old male. Does anyone have an opinion whether or not i might be able to train him, or have him trained, to do some basic flushing and retrieving? PA farm style small game hunting, primarily rabbits, pheasant, grouse, etc.

My personal opinion is that this dog is trainable thanks to its retriever roots. Of course, it needs proper training in order to become a good flushing/retrieving dog. Best of luck.
