Since the coon is a nocturnal animal, at night they will be way more responsive, but at the earliest, you could try and call them right after the sun sets. I have called them in before right at dark and they attacked the speaker. Don't get spotlight crazy, make a few series and listen closely, nine out of ten you will hear them coming or hear them by your speaker. Once, you do, flip the spotlight on(with a red lens of course) and start shooting.

anytime at night really i have done well right at dark and i have done well in the middle of the night. So it is up to you
