   Man kills hunting buddy
A hunter near Jonesville has told authorities that he accidentally shot and killed his friend when he mistook him for a deer.

Authorities say 48-year-old Larry Joe Lindler Jr. of Jonesville died in the woods near his home Monday from a rifle shot to the abdomen area.

The shooting is under investigation.

Lieutenant Robert McCullough of the Department of Natural Resources says Donald Allen Canupp of Lockhart told officers he fired after seeing movement in some bushes.

Lindler was wearing camel-colored overalls.

Deputies responding to the shooting found the 21-year-old Canupp trying to revive his friend.
