Granholm doesn't want to raise hunting, fishing fee
LANSING(AP) - Hunting and fishing license fees won't go up this budget year under a tentative agreement announced by a state lawmaker.
Environmental permit fees paid by businesses also won't rise.
Democratic Representative Joel Sheltrown of West Branch says the fee increases will be avoided by using extra money elsewhere in the budget.
Governor Granholm's budget office confirmed that she is fine with using other funding to avoid the fee increases, which the governor had proposed.
Republican senators haven't been briefed on the deal, but they do oppose fee hikes.
